2D/3D Imagery - Media Design

This program is for people who are interested in creating websites, interactive CD-Roms, as well as computer-assisted sound design.

Course Objectives

This program aims to:

help you understand the constraints inherent in completing a multimedia project and respect them
teach you how to carry out research and make feasibility studies before undertaking projects
introduce you to producing visual components to meet your objectives
familiarize you with the concepts of digital imaging
help you perform the duties required of a media graphics designer competently creating still and animated images and sound via the principle digital video and 2D/3D animation software programs on various platforms

Recommended Student Profile

This program was developed specially for people who fit one of the following criteria:


have creativity & artistic talent;
have good communication skills;
have a passion for images, sound and computer technology;
have a the ability to do work precisely and quickly;
have a basic knowledge of computer tools;
have the ability to adapt to a variety of schedules and respect tight deadlines;

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for admission to a program leading to an Attestation of Collegial Studies, you must have an education considered sufficient by the College and you must satisfy one of the following criteria:

studies interrupted for at least two consecutive semesters
orone full school year;
benefiting from a government program or an agreement
between the college and your employer
completion of at least one year of postsecondary studies over a one-year period or longer

Career Possibilities

As a media graphics designer, you will be expected to work in a
production studio. You may also use your talents to design and complete various projects such as producing information or promotional documents, web sites and other types of products.

Diploma

Attestation of College Studies.

Program Length

One year (three 15-week semesters). Total of 915 hours of class time and 690 hours of lab time.

Groups & Workstations

Maximum of 12 students per group.
One student per computer during lab time.*

* Lab time is restricted to after-class hours.
