2D/3D Imagery - Graphic Design

This program is for creative people who are passionate about communication in printed and electronic media, and was designed to fulfill both your needs and those of the industry.

Course Ojectives

This program aims to:

teach you how to carry out research and make feasibility studies before undertaking projects
help you create visual components for specific goals
provide you with the base you need to excel at computer graphics
provide you with understanding and experience so you can get amazing results with drawings, images, layouts and word-processing softwares on Mac or PC
help you get familiar with the different steps to production in communications in electronic and print media

Recommended Student Profile

This program was developed specially for people who fit one of the following criteria:


have a good communication skills;
have an artistic talent;
have creativity;
have drawing and computer skills;
have ability to work quickly and precisely.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for admission to a program leading to an Attestation of Collegial Studies, you must have an education considered sufficient by the College and you must satisfy one of the following criteria:

studies interrupted for at least two consecutive semesters or one full school year;
benefiting from a government program or an agreement between the College and your employerl;
completion of at least one year of postsecondary studies over a one-year period or longer.

You will put your talent to the test in such diverse fields as publishing, packaging, promotion, advertising and printing, as well as the service industry.

Diploma

Attestation of College studies.

Program Lenght

One year (three 15-week semesters).A total of 915 hours.

Groups & Workstations

Maximum of 18 students per group;
One student per computer during lab time.*

* Lab time is restricted to after-class hours.

Equipment

Macintosh & PC;
Each class has their own printer and scanner;
The college also has a high caliber colour printer and projectors..

Software

CS2 (Indesign, Photoshop, illustrator), QuarkXpress, Dreamweaver and HTML

Required Materials

1 USB key (128mb);
blank CD-Roms;
artists materials.

* We strongly recommend that students wait until classes begin before
purchasing any new material. Teachers may have specifications and
also direct you to the best buys.
