2D/3D Imagery - 2D/3D Animation

Create stories or imaginary characters, reproduce original objects or futuristic settings, and create special effects for science fiction!

Course Objectives

This program aims to:

help you create storyboards and screenplays for Animation;
familiarize you with leading edge animation tools;
train you to use tools for creating special effects;
equip you with fundamental estimation and commercialisation skills, creativity and productivity, as well as developing a sense of responsibilty and ethics.

Recommended Student Profile

This program was developed for people who fit one or more of the following criteria:


good communication skills;
artistic talent;
a passion for drawing and computers;
a desire for accuracy and an ability to work quickly.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for admission to a program leading to an Attestation of College studies, you must have an education considered sufficient by the College and you must satisfy one of the following criteria:

a having ceased studies for at least two consecutive sessions or one school year;
heing part of an agreement reached between the College and an employer or by a government program;
having completed at least one year of postsecondary studies
stretching over a one-year period or more.

Career Possibilities

Graduates will have the necessary competences to be hired in a company specialized in the creation, management and production of high-tech multimedia.

Diploma

Attestation of College Studies.

Program Length

One year (three 15-week semesters).Approximately 20 hours of class per week. 20 hours minimum of lab time per week per student. A total of 900 hours.

Groups & Workstations

20 students per group
One student per workstation during class time and lab time.

Workstations

Intel Core 2 Quad workstations.

Inter-Dec College students will learn how to do their own animation transfers.

Softwares

Softimage XSI , Photoshop, Avid Media Composer, Zbrush

Required Material

1 External hard drive
