Design - Interior Design

You will feel right at home in our design program at Inter-dec college where you will learn to design visually appealing, continuous, and livable interiors.


Course Objectives

The aim of the program is to:

teach the student to design functional and aesthetic residential and commercial spaces which respect the client needs, standards and constraints;
show the student how to use sketches to illustrate a concept or to prepare an initial idea for clients;
introduce the student to drawing technical plans for your designs (using both a drafting table and a computer);
enable the student to select appropriate materials;
familiarize the student with project presentation techniques.

Recommended Student Profile

This program was developed specially especially for those who satisfy for people who fit the following criteria:

team spirit;
availability;
creativity;
aesthetics sense.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for admission into a program leading to an Attestation of College studies, you must have an education considered sufficient by the College and you must satisfy at least one of the following criteria:

having interrupted studies for at least two consecutive semesters or one full school year;
benefit from a government program or an agreement between the College and your employer;
having completed at least one year of postsecondary studies over a one-year period or longer.

Career Possibilities

As a design graduate, you can choose between three central paths: residential,
commercial or institutional design.  By working for a design firm, you will be able to take your first steps as a junior designer before taking on the duties of a senior designer or project manager. You can also work for a specialized firm or business as a representative or consultant.  After having gained sufficient experience, you will be able to open your own firm and recruit your own clients.

Diploma

Attestation of College Studies.

Program Length

Two years or 18 months (five or six 15-week semesters).
Total of 1965 hours.

Groups

Maximum of 20 students per group.

Required Materials

A detailed list of the required materials will be provided to you on the first day of class. We strongly suggest that nothing be bought unless specified by your instructor. Your instructor will also be able to guide you in finding the best purchases. (Prices will vary based on the quality, however be prepared to pay over $600 in material fees for your first semester. The cost of materials diminishes in subsequent semesters.)
