Introduction

Inter-Dec College is standing out from the competition to offer the most up-to-date training in Digital Imagery and Beauty.

Students have the choice between a regular programme (between 2 to 3 years) and a most intensive programme (between 16 months to 2 years) which will lead to an International Advanced Diploma.

2006-2007 Course Calendars

Programmes start twice a year at Inter-Dec College: in September and in January. Should you choose the intensive programme, you would be taking courses in the Summer time. Should you choose the regular programme, you could take the Summer off.

Fall session: Sept 5 – Dec 16, 2006
Winter session: Jan 9 – April 21, 2007
Summer session: May 1 – Aug 11, 2007

Media Design and Animation

6 sessions – Regular and intensive programmes available
1st year (3 sessions) – Media Design:
As a multimedia computer graphics designer, you will be expected to work in a production studio. You may also use your talents to design information or promotional documentation, video games and other types of products. You must be thoroughly familiar with Macintosh and PC systems.

2nd year (3 sessions) - Animation:
You will create stories or imaginary characters, reproduce original objects or futuristic settings, and work on special effects for science fiction. Once you graduate, you can work as an animator, a modeller or a designer in the audiovisual, multimedia or electronic game industries.

Animation and Video Games

5 sessions – Regular and intensive programmes available
1st year (3 sessions) - Animation:
You will create stories or imaginary characters, reproduce original objects or futuristic settings, and work on special effects for science fiction. Once you graduate, you can work as an animator, a modeller or a designer in the audiovisual, multimedia or electronic game industries.

2nd year (2 sessions) – Video Games:
You will master the art of interactive script-writing. You will design and operate interactive tools and plan the creation of an interactive multimedia product in real time. You will then be able to be hired by a company specialized in the management and production of high-tech multimedia: video games, simulations, movies and interactive shows.

Post-production Video Editing, Special Effects & Compositing, Camera

5 sessions – Regular and intensive programmes available
1st year (3 sessions) – Post-Production Video Editing
Our programme focuses on the AVID digital editing programme, the most commonly used system in the industry. In addition to getting practical computer training, you will slip behind the camera and learn about Betacam production. Become a production assistant, assistant editor, junior editor or editor

2nd year (1 session) – Special Effects and Compositing
The programme will help the student specialize in special effects. The editors will then be more involved in all the environments that require the use of special effects.

3rd year (1 session) - Camera
The programme will help the student get accustomed to the environment of the camera (sound recording, lighting and settings). The graduate student will be able to work as a cameraman in a TV post-production and company video.

Aesthetics, Hairdressing & Artistic Make-Up

7 sessions – Regular and intensive programmes available
1st year (3 sessions) – Aesthetics
Become an aesthetic care specialist and work in spas, health centres and beauty parlours. You may also want to start your own business. Large stores, drug stores with cosmetic. counters, and beauty product firms may also hire you as a representative.

2nd year (3 sessions) – Hairdressing
Become a hairstylist! Put your artistic abilities to use as a hairstylist or a colour specialist as you gain experience. You can also act as a representative for beauty-product firms, or work on movie sets. You can even start your own business!

3rd year (1 session) – Artistic Make-Up
You will design specific facial and body make-up for each setting (theatre, movies, photos, television, fashion shows). You will learn to create special effects (injuries or skin diseases). You can wield your paintbrush for fashion, photography, advertising or movies. If you have a calling for sales, you can develop a career as a cosmetics representative.

Hairdressing and Artistic Makeup

1st year (3 sessions) – Hairdressing
